Any LGBTQ person who is pursuing a course of study at a Northern Nevada College, Community/Junior College, or credentialed Trade School. Scholarships may be used for undergraduate or graduate studies.

How are the applications reviewed?

Applications are reviewed by the current Spectrum Northern Nevada Board of Directors. *Immediate Family or Domestic Partners of Board Members are not eligible for Scholarships. Emphasis is placed on need and community service.

How much money can I apply for?

Spectrum will be donating a maximum of $750 in scholarships for 2021. This can be one recipient or several at the discretion of the current Board of Directors. Scholarship may be received multiple years. Spectrum Northern Nevada reserves the right to not award any scholarships in a calendar year.

Applications must be filled out completely including signature.
Applicants must include at least 2 letters of recommendation.
Applicants must include at least one of the following: copy of acceptance letter, current transcripts from the college or trade school to be attended in 2021, or proof of enrollment from the college or school to be attended in 2021.
Applicants must also include a one page essay detailing what the scholarship would mean to applicant, need, community service, participation in activities in the LGBTQ community, and any future plans in the Reno area or elsewhere.
